About the course:
This course is 6 hours of classroom learning which allows learners to cover the theory and practical elements of the course. Emergency First Aid at Work is ideal for lower risk businesses and follows Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations 1981. A certificate is issued after completion and is valid for 3 years.
The course covers:
- Roles and duties of a First Aider
- Dealing with a casualty
- Basic Life Support
- Choking
- Shock
- Wounds and Bleeding
- Burns and scalds
- Extremity injuries
- Unconsciousness
- Rules and regulations
- Recording and reporting
It is important for employees to note that under current guidelines it is recommended that those first aid trained staff attend a half-day First Aid update every 12 months.
